Zimmer – “Heartbreak Reputation (ft. Polina)”
The anticipation continues to build and it is slowly boiling over for us here at IHOS. Zimmer and Roche Musique have shared the second taste of his forthcoming ‘Coming Of Age’ EP and this is the best track yet. It also happens to be one of his deepest tracks so far and we are fully on board with the direction he is taking us.
“Heartbreak Reputation” builds ever-so-gracefully with a heady sensual dance melody made that much more alluring by sultry vocals from electronic music vocalist Polina. Zimmer always nails it with his choices in vocals. What starts off haunting, mysterious and spatial soon evolves into something beautifully romantic, melancholic, jaded and deeply resonant, but at the same time uplifting. Here’s is what Zimmer himself had to say about the track:
“Heartbreak Reputation is my favorite track of the EP. It was recorded in Los Angeles with Polina back in January. This song is probably deeper than my usual sound, with lots of space. It’s definitely more nostalgic, but it eventually becomes a bit more euphoric later on. I love that « it’s going to be alright after all » feeling. Hope you enjoy it.”
