Tuff Sherm – “Easy Company (Delroy Edwards Rmx)”
Ahhhh…another breath of fresh air from the Los Angeles underground scene. This local artist, Delroy Edwards, has a fantastic ear for gritty EQ treatment and chugging compression. His sound has evolved a good deal in the past year, but thats what it is all about my friends. Here he remixes a fairly unknown track and gives it an industrial techno makeover, be careful kids it can get spooky. Utilizing fundamental percussion noises from the 707 & 909 and typical JUNO inspired bass noises, he creates a dark groovy vibe perfect for late night set. The whole track seems to have a sort of Lo-Fi master to it as well, which only adds to that grungy feeling that soaks the speakers. Que bueno Delroy, que bueno. No release date yet…
