Tourist – “Someone Else”
Following up “Apollo” which graced our ears late last month (and also included below along with an edit), UK based Tourist has unleashed yet another track titled, “Someone Else.” The track , lush with ambient patterns and uplifting notes (akin to some of Sigur Rós‘ most revered works), is fitting for the month of November (which we like to associate with a more introspective state). “I’m interested in exploring human themes through sound. Family, mental health, loss, love,” says the producer, also adding, “Sonically, much of what has inspired me has been impressionism. I’m not interested in making cold, austere music. I want it to be imbued with romanticism, escapism and equal parts melancholy and optimism. ‘Apollo’ is a piece of music that hopefully inspires reflection and reverie. I love the idea that music can “take” you to places, and that’s what this is to me when I listen back to it.” And we do too. Dive in below.
