The Blaze – “Territory (Official Video)”
It’s pretty early in the year to start naming ones-to-watch, but The Blaze are one of the most exciting duos we’ve encountered in the last few months. The French producer/director tandem sparked plenty of conversation and praise over their first single and video “Virile” which popped up on the blogosphere late last year. Now they return with a brand new single and video titled “Territory.”
Where “Virile” depicted the romance and love of friendship between two males in the French suburbs, this new video continues on a different path of homecoming and belonging while also bringing up topics of male bonding. The track is a complete standout and works to highlight the raw emotions that the video taps into. From the opening scene we are hit with the face of the main character overwhelmed with emotion at seeing his family after being away for so long. The video is shot entirely in Algiers and leaves you feeling inspired and uplifted.
The way people dance to the tracks in their videos is exactly how music should be felt and enjoyed. It’s like the duo is creating a soundtrack for their own short films and the result is totally captivating. Check out the video for “Territory” below!
