Steve Huerta – “Say It Wasn’t / Bear Witness”
We’ve been big fans of Berlin via L.A. based producer Steve Huerta for a while now. He’s been garnering a solid following for himself lately with his rich and emotive style of music. Since he moved to Berlin we’ve noticed his sound leaning more and more towards deep, powerful house. We were pleasantly surprised to see his name come up on a new Anjunadeep 06 compilation last year and even more excited to hear that he was dropping an EP through the imprint.
The A-side, “Say It Wasn’t,” is a lush and penetrating aural ride with reverberating bass, deeply emotive tones and cascading chords. This is one you need to have close at hand deep into the night. On the flip side is “Bear Witness” with a boost in the tempo and percussion. The beat pulses over ambient rich chords and spacious synths. And finally on remix duty Steve has the one-and-only Locked Groove with a gem that dances along that border between techno and house. A stellar EP yours for the taking over on Beatport!
