Midnight Mystery Club – “Calling Me (Pioneerball Remix)”
There’s a promising new sound designer based in San Luis Obispo, CA who is steadily building a reputation for putting out absolutely stunning tracks. David Paul Newell is the mind behind the project, Midnight Mystery Club, which takes its name from a bicycling society based in San Francisco. Newell garners inspiration from late 70s early 80s songwriting which he mixes with his propensity for composing polished dance hooks.
He has a golden touch when it comes to creating hypnotic bass lines paired with “sophisticated modern House drums and natural percussive elements.” His latest single, “Calling Me,” is a mesmerizing disco tinged groove with beautiful expansive synthscapes built around the chorus. Even the remix from Pioneerball, a.k.a Tesla Boy’s Stan Astakhov, is drenched in nostalgic electro that is perfect for a dance floor atmosphere. You won’t want to pass up these tracks. Trust us.
