Lane 8 – “Diamonds / Without You EP”
Anytime we hear that Lane 8 is dropping a new EP we have to stop what we’re doing and pay full attention. We first heard back in October that his new ‘Diamonds/Without You’ EP was coming out this month and from that initial taste of “Without You” we were hooked. Both tracks are now officially out since Monday and you can pick up your copies over on Beatport! Both tracks are definite standouts, but “Diamonds” really strikes a chords with us.
From the rich and dreamy vocals by Solomon Grey to the haunting driving melody. It has a nostalgic and slightly retro quality. Every time you listen to it you are stuck in a liminal space between complete euphoria and deep melancholia. He manages to flirt with both sides and the overall vibe is one that embraces melancholic bliss.
