Jamie xx – “Loud Places ft. Romy (Music Video)”
When we got word that Jamie xx was coming out with a full album via Young Turks, the excitement and anticipation was on a steady ascent. Last week the label and Jamie released four brilliant tracks showcasing just how great this album was going to be. “Loud Places” is his stellar collaboration with fellow xx member Romy and, so far, a standout track for us. The track is dreamy and majestic with Romy delivering her gorgeous vocal treatment. The lyrics and melody are slightly melancholic and definitely tug at the heart-strings, but you are always left with an overwhelming sense of aural pleasure. Subdued and minimal production done right. This album is shaping up to be one of the best releases of the year.

“Romy and I made a video for “Loud Places”…We grew up skateboarding together, when I was thinking of what the video for Loud Places should be, I kept coming back to the idea of Romy and I skating in London, visiting the places we used to go to. It’s a part of our friendship not many people really know about and it’s something I wanted to share.”
