Our French brother Jerry Bouthier sent us a simply PHENOMENAL mix that has left us in the highest of spirits after just one listen. We are beyond thrilled to be the first to share the latest mix in his series ‘Resis.tanz‘. The series is “a new mix series aimed to help deal with the current global crisis, tracks combined as soothing tools and powerful assistance to our mental well-being and collective recovery/healing, musical contributions to the conversation.” This second volume of Discoteca, in the series, goes back to the dancefloor, bringing a much needed boost of energy and uplifting vibes to homes in confinement or as accompaniment to the rediscovery of the outside world- the perfect feeling for a long-awaited, well deserved, summer.
The 80s synth sounds and machine-generated grooves, which paved the way for much of today’s electronic dance music, are being rediscovered, propelling nightclubbing 2020 into future disco territory. Think vintage analog gear, hypnotic funked-up basslines, thumpy primary repetitive beats etc. with some inspired vocals and revised Italo disco melodies thrown in – and above all the wish to dance the night away in style, make friends and fall in love with life again…
