Honey Dijon – “Stars (feat. Sam Sparro) (Cosmic Energy Dub)”
Miss Honey Dijon has been serving up jams on jams all year long and shows no signs of slowing down! We were all waiting on the release of her debut album, ‘The Best Of Both Worlds,’ and it was on of our favorites of the year for sure. Her collaboration with Tim K and Sam Sparro was one, among many, standouts on the album. Yesterday we got word that she teamed up with the Aussie vocalist once again on a pulsing rework of the 1979 disco classic, “Stars” by the celestial “Queen of Disco,” Sylvester.
Honey was also recently approached by Smirnoff for a campaign about diversity which she naturally was hesitant about because she wasn’t sure about their intentions. But ultimately she went through with it because the company made an agreement that they would put their money where their mouth was and make a donation to a charity supporting trans rights. Big ups to the one-and-only Honey Dijon for breathing new life into this disco classic by Sylvester and for representing for the community! We’ll leave you with this great quote she gave The Fader:
“It’s very important for me to bring some color, vibrancy, and queerness back into dance music.”
