Evil Fred – “Get On”
Berlin’s own Rene Pawlowitz, who previously went by the moniker Shed, has taken on a new stage name as Evil Fred. He has come to be known as a prolific and very talented techno producer and now his music moves in the direction of “Balearic rave”. His new “Get On” EP is a two-track behemoth. The title track particularly stands out with dark, gritty drum beats that flirt with the idea of techno yet never cross the line. A Balearic melody comes in to give it a catchy dance-worthy vibe while dissonant chiming effects and repetitive percussion give it that rave feel. It’s just the track to rein in 2014.
