Ejeca – Nebula EP

Ejeca

Belfast’s world-renowned producer Ejeca has finally teased the Nebula EP, the first release for his new label Exploris, introduced this spring. The three songs on the Nebula EP largely represent many of Ejeca’s previous efforts—bouncing deep house with a slight techno edge—but now the intensity’s been turned up. The BPMs are fast, the synths are detuned, and the mentality represented across these tracks is one of dance floor meditation. Body music, in other words.

Rhythmically, these tracks aren’t too inventive—the four-four house patterns sound like Ejeca’s older material, or even another artist’s entirely—but their driving measures and repetitious structures feature him in a fresher, hungrier state of mind. “Rick Flair” is a straightforward deep house cut with a slow vinyl backspin that lends a throbbing mechanical sweep. “Prototype,” the other standout from the collection, features metallic drums, slithery snares, and churning synths in what is undoubtedly the most techno-influenced track of the release. Check out Nebula EP in its entirety September 1 on Exploris.
