Clarens – “Pray”
We were first introduced to the promising new talent Ousseynou Cissé, a.k.a Clarens, a few months back when Yuksek‘s Partyfine imprint shared their anniversary compilation “Partyfine Vol. 1.” His debut single was called “Trust” and it was the first invitation into his world of hazy, bedroom pop that draws obvious influences from artists like Blood Orange and Clams Casino.
Clarens returns to Partyfine again with a second helping of his resonant sound titled “Pray.” The track is produced by Yuksek and JS Le Gouic and it has a charming atmospheric quality that resembles church organs. The soft electronic rhythm leaves plenty of room for you to dance or simply sit back and enjoy. Keep this one in mind when you feel like hearing the perfect pick-me-up. Check out what Clarens had to say about the single:
‘When I arrived in Rennes I was determined
to become a musician by any means, not only
because it is music that makes me feel alive, but
also because music is the only thing I can do
properly. I wrote this song as a prayer towards
anyone who could help me become the person I
am today- I didn’t know at the time that my wish
would be fulfilled that fast.’
Lookout for the release on November 24th!
