Christian Löffler – “Lid (Zimmer Remix)”
German producer Christian Löffler‘s self described sound of “melancholy and euphoria” gets a revamp from Zimmer. Christian’s poignant and emotive brand of music has been making waves for quite some time now and it seems like a perfect fit for Zimmer to build on. The track is called “Lid” and it’s lifted from his album ‘Mare’ which dropped last year to glowing reviews. The original is a gorgeous orchestral track with melancholic electronica topped off with his floating vocals. And like the song, the album took on a more organic approach to music making that recorded every bit of sound in a recording session with several microphones. Zimmer takes on a similar approach with the addition of his own self-recorded percussive elements as he continues to build on the strong emotive qualities of the original with a deep house perspective.
