1987 – “Michelle (Boge & Scandal Remix)”
Earlier this year Swedish artist 1987, a.k.a Victor Holmberg, surprised us with a mesmerizing new single titled “Michelle.” The slow, minimal build joined by spatial atmospherics created the perfect playground for the beautifully heartfelt vocals. And although we couldn’t understand the Swedish vocals we were completely hypnotized by the entire composition. We recently heard a rad house rendition of the track from Norwegian duo Boge & Scandal. The formidable twosome drags the original melody into murky deep house waters with a solid and poignant bassline and a rolling bass and hi hat combo. They also leave some room for a breakdown that introduces the original vocals to a stunning effect.
