This next artist and songwriter has been rising through the ranks the last few months with a steady stream of inspired R&B tinged dance tracks. Mabel is her name and she is the daughter of industry greats, Neneh Cherry and producer Cameron McVey (Massive Attack, Portishead, etc.), so it’s safe to say that a passion for music runs through the family. She breathes new life into 90s aesthetic and sound harkening back to the power in female R&B singers of that era. Her track “Bedroom” is one among others where she asserts her ownership of her body and sexuality. And it looks like she knows exactly who she wants to be remixing her tracks because she taps into the nu-disco stylings of Oliver Nelson.
