KIM – “KLOSER”

Kim-Kloser

There is nothing quite like pure, unadulterated techno from the folks over at Motorik!, the Sydney based techno authority. Their latest gift unto our ears comes as a three track EP from Kim Moyes, one half of the Australian electro pop duo The Presets. His side project is dubbed KIM and the last time he put out an actual release via the moniker was about four years ago, so Motorik! definitely hit the jackpot with this EP.

The EP’s title track brings a electric fire with steady thumping bass and fluttering pad progression that just gets better and better as the seconds go by. The second track is titled “CASIOPEA”, a driving tech heavy gem that is both energetic and serene at the same time with a constant build that maintains that dance floor appeal. Finally we have “Frozen” with its soft and oh-so-cool aural waves. It is a calm and collected, expansive and cinematic ride that takes you to another realm on consciousness.

The entire EP is exquisite and it is awesome to hear Kim playing with subtle dichotomies of harsh and soft and ultimately blurring lines. Stream Kim’s ever-evolving sounds below.
