J. Phlip & Chris Lorenzo – “Walls EP”
Let’s spiral down into the deep workings of J. Phlip & Chris Lorenzo who team up to deliver a brooding three track EP dubbed Walls. This one goes out to all you night owls who prefer to get down during after hours. The title track is a definite show-stopper with vocal aide from High Priestess, a plunging succession of notes on top of a pulsing hi-hat/drum combo and sporadic atmospheric breaks. The B-side is called “Lights” and it kicks up the tempo ever-so-slightly while still holding on to that dark, looming threat from the title track. The last track on the EP “features a trippy beat-less C side” that takes things into deeper and more conceptual territory. Kudos to these two on a killer ride!
