Henri Texier – “Les Là-Bas (Bonobo Remix)”
This one was an exclusive release for Record Store Day from the one-and-only Bonobo. He provided his remix of a classic jazz track from French double bassist Henri Texier. The original was first heard back in 1977 via his album ‘Varech’ in which Henri played every instrument heard on the track including that signature bassline that is enhanced on Bonobo’s rendition. The remix is as energetic and playful as Henri’s, but only this time the bass stabs are more prominent and the beat is ironed out into a sonically fluid melody. Stream the track below.
