Giraffage – “Hello”
Charlie Yin, a.k.a Giraffage, has a new EP out on Fool’s Gold titled ‘No Reasons’ and it is his best work yet. For most of his music making career he has worked with remixes and samples. But when he signed to Fool’s Gold he announced a new approach to the way he makes music and the result is this new EP that is completely “sample-free.” His sound has always been ultra smooth and oozing tons of R&B flavor.This new endeavor does not leave behind that signature style it only enhances it through original and innovative beats.
“Hello” is one of our favorites off the EP. It has a really clever use of musical tones we associate with various forms of communication. The melody is beautifully handled and the pitch altered vocals are shaped in a way that represents dialogue between two lovers. Really good stuff here from Giraffage. Can’t wait to hear what’s next!
