Whiskers Po – “Yes”
San Francisco label Hot N Heavy adds Whiskers Po’s new EP, Yes, to its versatile catalogue of bass, drum n bass, house, and beats/R&B. Whiskers Po has kindly shared the title track, a bruised deep house cut with bass-heavy production. Down-pitched ping-pong vocals kick off the song, and before long a swinging kick pushes into a middle section that fills the dancefloor. Once the instrumental occupies most of the mix, interjecting, tongue-in-cheek vocals (“Yes,” “Side to side,” “Unh,”) keep the vibe silky and funky.
