VVV – “Come Back”
Iranian-born, Texas-based artist VVV continues his recent prolific streak with “Come Back,” a smoldering concoction of melancholy ambience and jittery garage. A grey-scape of columnar synth pads introduces his familiar two-step shuffle, which romps around roiling bass. Around one minute in the drums drop out, and a dissected female vocal swirls cavernously around melancholy synth chords. The rhythm kicks in again, and the song floats along on driving drum patterns, the reverb-drenched ambient flourishes like flotsam in the powerful wake. Another wonderfully emotive take from VVV.
