As far as singer/songwriter and producer duos go, Prince Innocence is one of our favorites. Talvi Faustmann and Josh McIntyre have an allure and mystery reminiscent of the members of the Velvet Underground and Nico. Everything from their aesthetic to their sound has us hooked. Today they return with a brand new single, “Polished,” marking their first single in over a year. It’s lifted from their forthcoming EP ‘Easy Life’ to be released by the formidable imprint Cascine. Here’s what Josh had to say about the track:

“Polished” is an ode to the vapidity and fantasy of modern love. A song that speaks to yearning, pleasure, pain — about that intermingling. We’ve always worked best with a minimal, stripped down structures and “Polished” is the culmination of that feeling. It’s the quintessential representation of our sound.”

The lyrics and vocals are both hypnotic and deep (in every sense of the word). The production is slow, romantic, melancholic, minimal and beautifully melodic. They nailed it once again.
