Populous – “Batismo (feat. Riva)”
Brooklyn based imprint, Wonderwheel Recordings, released the third studio album from Italian producer Populous. After two successful albums, Populous returns to deliver another unique blend of world music. This time around he took in the culture and sounds that surrounded him after moving to Lisbon, Portugal. What resulted was a channeling of Lisbon as a city ‘halfway between South American soul and European modernity, African in some aspects, and dramatically melancholic.” It’s captured beautifully in the album, ‘Azulejos,’ which is out now over on Bandcamp.
