L.A’s very own rhythm master, Cooper Saver, has put out a debut EP with French imprint Biologic Records. The tastemakers over at Mixmag premiered one of the tracks titled “Pacifico” and it’s a medley of percussive layers and hypnotic synths. It’s colorful, refreshing and definitely one for those summer rooftop parties you’ve had your eye on. This is his best work yet and available for purchase here. Catch the stream after the jump.

Lusine always taps into really interesting pockets of digital culture. He totally fits right at home with the Ghostly International imprint because they have a knack for scoping out rare talent. Lusine’s album dropped a couple of months ago and this song, “Not Alone,” resonates perfectly with this age of connection through digital proxies. In the clip we see a woman submerging her mind into a glitchy matrix where she encounters that she has company, but the jury is out on it being the kind she wants to keep. The track features vocals from Jenn Champion on this lush electronic score that mirrors the sense of discovery, imperfection and curiosity in the video.
Tumultuous relationships are definitely relatable and Vendredi Sur Mer captures it beautifully in her new song “Chewing-Gum.” Her strong eye for fashion and aesthetics are put on full display in the video. It gets rough and puts the roller coaster of emotions on display in a dreamy, stylized clip. All brought together with a solid bassline that gets you in the mood to dance. A bit of sun-kissed disco pop for the summer.
Yuksek dropped a follow up to his excellent collaboration with Polo & Pan from last month. This time around he teams up with Processman and Henriq Ch to deliver this instant feel-good summer anthem titled “Do Beijo.” The song is effortlessly cool with blissed out Portuguese vocals and a classic disco vibe that reiterates that feeling of summer. And while we’re on a roll with these new music videos, this track also comes with rad visuals. It’s a really cool clip that tells the story of space invaders with lips for heads with a mission spread the love and get everyone kissing. It’s all told through collage and stock video with bold graphics and colors. The single is part of the forthcoming 4th album from Yuksek which is looking at an October release date. “Do Beijo” is out everywhere thanks to the Partyfine crew!

Electronic duo Else has finally quenched our thirst for new music and even put out a new video to go along with it. The latest track is called “Night Thoughts“ and the enigmatic duo pick up right where they left off creating beautifully lush and cinematic music. There are euphoric notes paired with deeper melancholic moments that are matched in the video. The video is directed by Adrien Lagier and Ousmane Ly. It follows two young men living outside the law set along the California coast and high desert.
Friendly Fires have a brand new album ready to launch in August called ‘Inflorescent.’ And last week they shared a new single off the album titled “Silhouettes” complete with a visualizer. It’s a totally infectious sun-kissed gem that deserves to land on your quintessential summer playlists. It has that air of uplifting indie pop anthem that you can pop in for an instant mood boost. The album is available for pre-order here.
L.A based crooner Nyiko is back with a brand new single. Following right on the heels of his “dating app anthem”, ’9×16,’ we have this ode to summer love titled “Dominoes.” It kicks off soft and sultry allowing enough space for his vocals to swoop in and lead us into the lush synth drop. It’s a dreamy blend of R&B and synth pop that will leave you craving for more. Fortunately, this is only the second single to Nyiko’s forthcoming EP, ‘Crush,’ which will be coming out August 8th via Trailing Twelve Records. Get your fill after the jump!
On Friday Satin Jackets and Anoraak graced us with a remix that should be a staple on all playlists this summer. The track is a nu disco slow burner crafted well enough to be tucked into peak hour sets. You can expect plenty of bass and just the right amount of vocals to create an irresistible dance floor atmosphere. If this is the kind of summer 2019 has in store, count us in. Twice. Dive in below.
The music world mourns the loss of influential French producer, Philippe ‘Zdar’ Cerboneschi, one half of the seminal house duo Cassius. Him and his partner Hubert ‘Boom Bass’ Blanc-Francard have made a huge mark on the music scene as Cassius since the late 90s. Their latest album, ‘DREEMS,’ released today and a new music video for the song “Don’t Let Me Be” popped up a couple of days ago. The track and video serve up a beautiful slice of sun-kissed nu disco featuring vocals from Owlle. Philippe worked with the likes of Cut Copy, Phoenix, Cat Power, Kanye, Chromeo and many more. We lost a genius, but he leaves behind a potent legacy of unforgettable music. Grab your copy of the album here and check out the super infectious video below!
