We’re totally here and eagerly waiting for every bit of new music that Róisín Murphy has been putting out lately. These last few tracks have been harkening to early 90s house music, but with a modern twist that reads in the polished and shimmering productions. Her latest music video is for the track “The Rumble“ and builds on the motif of the previous videos that showcase club culture euphoria. This one centers on one protagonist as she literally lets it all go and becomes one with the music in a space that allows her to be herself without judgement.

This remix has been on constant replay since it surfaced last week. We’re big fans of Parcels and their disco tinged melodies with harmonized vocals that have everyone swooning. Their debut album is amazing and just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, they hit us with this incredible nu disco remix from the one-and-only Breakbot! The mix of Parcels’ vocals and Breakbot’s silky bassline have us living our disco fantasies searching for that glowing dance floor to finally let loose. Check it out after the jump.
It’s amazing to see more and more compelling cinematography and stories being expressed in music videos. It’s definitely impressive, to say the least, that artists can pack a completely emotive storyline in a video that runs a little under 6 minutes. In the same vein as The Blaze, this next producer named Ateph Elidja hails from France and presents a beautiful debut video called “Burn October.” As Ateph continues explores his sound, he gifts us with this stunner that dances somewhere between dark, almost industrial electronic and euphoric synth bliss. A sound that is matched by the haunting, gripping, deeply emotive video of a father caught in a wave of grief, “anger, fire and complete disorientation” after the loss of a child. Ateph is definitely one-to-watch!
Cavego‘s debut EP over on Belgian taste-making label, Eskimo Recordings, is a stunning ode to the Nordic valley of ‘Gudbrandsdalen’ which just so happens to be the name of the EP as well. For years now, Norway has been an bottomless well of top notch disco. And Cavego has been establishing himself as one of our favorites when it comes to nu disco. With this new EP he traveled back to his hometown to garner inspiration from the natural world he grew up in and blend that with sultry, addictive basslines and synths. The breakdown with those sharp chords and the mesmerizing conclusion really steal the show. He was definitely inspired and it completely shows in the work.
Warner Case‘s stellar new ‘Good Time Heart Dance’ EP gets a pair of new videos featuring both collaborators from the EP Spencer Ludwig and Zak Downtown. Part One is for the banger that reached the number one spot on Hypem, “Good Time,” and it follows the impromptu dance battle between the female lead Elsa Stallings and Zak. The ending is introduces a mysterious character who turns out to be Spencer leading us into Part Two. Spencer is cast as this trumpet wielding specter crashing a date while performing “Heart Dance.” Both videos are directed by talented filmmaker Losmose who’s featured on Warner’s podcast/video series #mondaymoves talking about his work and sharing music. Following up “Apollo” which graced our ears late last month (and also included below along with an edit), UK based Tourist has unleashed yet another track titled, “Someone Else.” The track , lush with ambient patterns and uplifting notes (akin to some of Sigur Rós‘ most revered works), is fitting for the month of November (which we like to associate with a more introspective state). “I’m interested in exploring human themes through sound. Family, mental health, loss, love,” says the producer, also adding, “Sonically, much of what has inspired me has been impressionism. I’m not interested in making cold, austere music. I want it to be imbued with romanticism, escapism and equal parts melancholy and optimism. ‘Apollo’ is a piece of music that hopefully inspires reflection and reverie. I love the idea that music can “take” you to places, and that’s what this is to me when I listen back to it.” And we do too. Dive in below.
SG Lewis can do no wrong. His collaborations are always exceptionally curated, and they seem to never skip a beat. Up next, is yet another seamless collaboration this time with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. The result, “Again,” is a dynamic tune featuring a hypnotic beat laid over ethereal, padded synths and dreamy vocals from TEED to seal it in. This is a track you can lose your self on the dance floor to or alternatively play to set the mood an ambient late-night drive. Kudos, Sam. This is a diamond in the rough. You’ve done it again.

We’re currently vibing to this sultry new gem from rising French pop artist Charline Mignot, a.k.a Vendredi sur Mer. Her moniker translates to Friday by the sea and that’s exactly where we’re transported when we listen to her latest track “Écoute chérie.” The song contains copious amount of sex appeal with a seductive bassline and her breathy, spoken word vocals. Her attention to aesthetics is made apparent in her new video for the track that follows Vendredi and her companions engaged in polysexual escapades. Soak in every last drop after the jump!
The second single from Jacques Greene‘s looming EP is a haunting, deep electronic track called “Convex Mirror.” It’s beautiful and layered with piercing synths constructing this dystopian aural landscape for the first two minutes of the track. Then we progress into the cavernous melodies with a solid low end groove. Hope your calendars are marked for November 16th so you can catch his ‘Fever Focus’ EP in its full fledged glory.
Here goes the first taste of the forthcoming ‘Motions’ EP from Sydney duo Midnight Pool Party. The track is called “Stand A Chance” and once again they impress with über melodic hooks and a bassline that gets the hips in motion. The single is slated to drop November 1st and pretty much has us on the edge of our seat waiting for the full EP to drop. Check it out after the jump!
