Moodwax – “Holding/Mermaid EP”
Sunju Hargun is the face behind the Bangkok based moniker Moodwax. His sound is described as:
“Hypnotic Vocals, ethereal pads, and the smooth rush of deep grooves and with it an entirely new wave of retro-futuristic house music. “
And we could not agree more. Last week he shared a throwback EP that remained unreleased until now and comes with 3 tracks he created back in 2009 and 2012. Since they never got an official release he is giving these gems away for free so make sure you take full advantage of the offer! The first two tracks are titled “Holding” with one being a chop and dub mix by Sunju himself. Throbbing bassline and shuffling beat that go perfectly with peak hour grind while the mix is slightly more subdued and a good track for winding down a set. Finally we have “Mermaid” which is the first track he created under the guise of Moodwax. All three are worth the download so get on it!
