HNNY – “12.00”

It’s difficult to think of a more appropriate name for Stockholm house artist HNNY, whose cozy and inviting house productions are completely connotative of the sugary stuff. We loved HNNY’s wistful remix of Flight Facilities’ “Two Bodies feat. Emma Louise,” and with a little more digging into his recent output we found another beautiful track, “12.00.”

On this track, vocals are stripped out entirely, leaving a mellow shuffle and gooey sub-bassline that reminds us of Songs from the Beehive. A few confidently placed hi-hats keep the production from tipping into drowsy territory, and a sly electric guitar line adds an exciting folk/pastoral complexity to an otherwise coasting, unobtrusive house cut.
